Learning Commons: It has been a busy month in the Learning Commons. We took down our historical display in honour of Remembrance Day, and replaced it with an anti-bullying display, as November is Antibullying and Violence Prevention Month. We are grateful to the folks at Pembina Crisis Connection who continue to supplement our LLC collection with books and other print resources.
On November 8 the Breton Elementary School and the Breton High School Students honored our Veterans with a very informative and moving Remembrance Day Service. Our attendance at school that day was very low, due to the busses not running because of freezing rain, and we did not get as many adult participants in our program as usual either, but those who had a job to do made it here to help us all remember the sacrifices so many made for all of us. Thank you to all who participated or attended. Many thanks to the Royal Canadian Legion Members and the Breton Fire Department who were our guests that day. Thanks also to Ms. Prusko and her assistants who served our honored guests and our staff a delicious lunch after the ceremony.
Volleyball: Our volleyball season is now finished. Our Sr. girls were unsuccessful in their qualifying zone game against Swan Hills, so will not be advancing this year. Both Jr. Teams and our Sr. Team had a good season and we hope to see all who can return to the sport back on the court next year. Basketball starts soon.
Football: Congratulations to the Breton Cougars Football team, who advanced to Provincials in Raymond, defeating Rimbey in Semi-Final play by a score of 54-44. Cougars will be playing in Raymond this Friday. Go Cougars! Also a huge shout out to Timberland Auctions for their faithful and continued support of our Cougars Football Team.
